December 17, 2007 · Blog promotion, StumbleUpon
After a break of 3 6 months. I decided to get back to some of my English blogs. I got a new custom made theme for my Apple Blog and finally posted something. Just for curiosity I submitted the new post to StumbleUpon. To my surprise next day I found that over 120 people visited my blog. Guess what was the source? Yep, StumbleUpon.
Seems like today another hundred is coming… Now I need to think of the ways to make them stick to my blog.

Hi!
I recently tested my new blog on StumbleUpon too. I stumbled and for 3 days nothing happened and then a sudden flood of 285 visitors for that one article. It works indeed.

Yes, StumbleUpon can give you surprises once in a while.

Hello
SU can bring in tons of traffic, and it makes up for nearly 80% of mines according to Google Analytics. When you actively socialize on SU and use it for networking in combination with another more specific social site (ie Sphinn, Mixx), you open more possibilities.

Yep, StumpleUpon can bring you much more than a few hundred visits. The problem is: SU traffic is very low quality. Means they don’t visit your sponsors and don’t click on your ads… But - you definitely earn some backlinks

StumbleUpon isn’t just a great Social Network, it’s also pretty much the leader in qualified, low bounce rate traffic, where the guys that visit are more likely to click on stuff or stick around, when compared to other Social Media portals, like Digg, for example.
I’m presently weathering a 2k a day flurry from a 1 month old article that’s been SU’d…

I personally do not see much advantage of SU traffic, it is more for comfort: when there are only few visitors, submit couple of pages to SU and enjoy one or two days of success

Me either. Doesn’t seem to produce some clicks.
But it feels good our posts’ getting read.

Stumbleupon traffic is more visitor targeted because it depends on the user’s preferences.

If you can get your 200 stumblers to be the right ones, (and mix it up from time to time) it can drive mad traffic which in turn (with great content) will get you many new links and the traffic is real people who are genuinely interested in reading or at least looking for something to read.

I think that stumbleupon is a pretty good traffic maker.
It did surprise you with the amount of traffic increase.

Is this a plug-in for your browser? Give me the jist of it
Michael July 5th, 2008 @ 5:57 am
2TinyT, yes it is a plug-in, you can get it from the stumble upon site. I believe it is available for both IE and Firefox.
