The Repeal of Gravity Blog

I am terribly behind my schedule for blog reviews. Today I would like to take a look at The Repeal of Gravity Blog, a blog of a guy running for president of the United States of America next year, Louis J. Cassorla. Not sure how serious he is about the presidency, but he surely is serious about blogging.

The Repeal of Gravity Blog

Louis wrote me a note asking for a review. I believe it will be good to post it here.

I would be thrilled to have you review my blog. I’m not getting nearly as much traffic as I would like. I’ve been trying to post more often recently. All content is original. Sometimes I worry my posts are too long. Sometimes I wonder whether my interests just aren’t appealing to other people.

Please do make your review of my blog available for public viewing. Thanks. And good luck with your own blogging!

First of all I would like to say that The Repeal of Gravity Blog looks great. It is one of the very few Google Blogger blogs I actually like. Very clean. Pictures fit in very nicely.

As far as content goes, it seems to me it is very normal not to get a lot of traffic to the personal blog. Of course there are exceptions, but as a rule I would not expect somebody to be really interested in personal stuff.

Louis concern is that his posts are pretty long. Seemingly it is so, but I think it is due to the fact that many posts have no pictures in them, just a plain text. Pictures, simple clipart that corresponds to the posts idea, are great not just because they make it easier to comprehend the idea, but also they revive the post, make it look fresh and not boring. Louis tends to use very short paragraphs too. It makes posts look longer.

As far as the lack of visitors goes, I believe it is partly due to the poor search engine optimization. Titles are smart, but not SEO-friendly. Text also does not emphasize keywords. Of course blogs do not have to be SEO-friendly. It all depends on the goals of the blog and the ways you promote it. Search engines do not serve sites equally for all the topics.

It is really important to decide what exactly you want from your blog, and them choose the particular strategy to promote it.

I took at look at his blog, I noticed that he had some longer posts, and then recently some shorter ones, so maybe someone advised him to shorten them up. I prefer the shorter ones myself, If I am still interested I go read more. Blogs with a longer summary and then read more are ideal for me.
I found the blog interesting, and I like to root for the underdog. And isn’t that how it should be, anyone can run for office? I can’t image George Washington had a massive amount of money for marketing and campaigning. He had an opinion, and seemed like a leader so people voted for him. I think that our forefathers would be appalled at todays politics, and the level of control the government is assuming over the people today.
Hey maybe I should run to? No thanks, the job of making the country right is beyond my abilities.
